Key Airlines Pilot Hat Badge 1st Issue

Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Savannah, GA 1965-1993

Established as Sun Valley Airlines (Boise, ID) which merged with Key Airlines in 1964 and operated as Sun Valley Key Airlines in the early 1970's. Renamed Key Airlines in the mid-1980's. Key Air was purchased by Presidential Airways in 1986 and then one year later by World Airways but in both instances continued to fly under its own colors. In 1992 Key Air was sold by World Airways and by then the financial situation was difficult. Many of the 727s were sold and two new leased MD-83 were put into service, but the end came a few months later when the company sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The airline restarted in 1993 as Key International Airlines. They adopted National Airlines Sun King logo in early 1993 but went bankrupt again and the company was liquidated.
